Size: 350,000 sq ft.
Sector: Insurance.
Location: London.
Architect: Swanke Hayden Connell
Given the logistical complexity of what was London's largest office project of 2009, K2 Space's performance was nothing short of exemplary.
This is the most complex project we have undertaken to date, but the award winning Willis building is now a landmark in the city of London. Given a less than 4 month program we had to deliver and install all furniture products over 24 floors. As a majority of the product came from the States, K2 Space not only provided all of the product, we also shipped it, a service we have been offering our clients for over 10 years.
After offloading 120 HC 40ft containers during evenings only and within the schedule, we were then able to commence work on the assembly of all the varying workstation standards. The works were much diversified and included a fine dining area on the top floor, as well as a 300 person restaurant area, supplying all furniture products for these areas. We also sourced and supplied products for the In-House Hotel, ranging from the beds and bed linen, to the Hotel safes and trouser press', all procured and supplied by K2 Space.
Systems furniture was used in the open plan areas, Executive furniture for senior management and Executive workwalls in the general offices, all specified by Swanke Hayden Connell architects. We used our bespoke craftsmen to make specialist conference tables of varying sizes and complexities, as well as standard meeting room tables for the more general areas.
Given that this was London's largest commercial project of 2009, K2 Space is proud that we were awarded the contract to supply all office furniture and fittings, as well as the shipping and logistics contract. The fact that we completed within the schedule time frame, endorses our position as one of the leading office furniture contractors within the UK marketplace.
All case studies.
